As Promised… Something New

Hello again fellow children’s writers and friends,

A short one today. Some of you, who have checked out some of the links in previous posts may have already heard about this one. Nonetheless as promised, as soon as I heard about it, I wanted to pass it on to you. After all it’s especially good news for writers of the Picture Book, my personal favourite type of writing and one of the most difficult to get into let alone become successful.

OK OK without further ado I’d like to inform you of a brand new- alright they opened at the end of December, but that’s brand new in this industry, as most Houses are closed until late January, making them practically newborns- publishing house. Little Pink Dog Books http://littlepinkdogbooks.com located in Armidale NSW is run by author/illustrator Kathy Creamer and her husband Peter and while they are certainly accepting PB manuscripts they are particularly looking for illustrators who have been a little slower to submit.

That’s right, although they’re only new, they will stop accepting submissions sometime this year to get through those they have and reopening to submissions in 2017. So if you want the chance to become a published PB author or illustrator, I suggest you get your submission into LittlePinkDogBooks@bigpond.com ASAP. They prefer an inquiry email first. Good Luck!

Farewell fellow travellers,

Savour the quest!

About Artelle Lenthall

I am a wife, mother and emerging Children's Author. I am loving the new 'sites' on the road to publication. I belong to the Fellowship of Australian Writers(FAW) Creative Kids Tales(CKT) and the NSW Writers Centre and although I'd love to belong to more writing related organisations, I have found friends, support, critiquing and general encouragement with these, for which I am truly grateful. I also subscribe to Tara Lazar's specialist Picture Book website which often inspires me in the development of my craft. Worth a look if like me, Picture Books are your passion.
